Republican House Speaker Paul McCarthy admitted in private but recorded conversation that Donald Trump may have received money from the Russian Federation.
Republican House Speaker Paul McCarthy admitted in a private conversation, but it is recorded, that Donald Trump may have received money from the Russian Federation, the Washington Post reports.
The record, which the Washington Post insists it has heard and confirmed, is June 15, 2016, a month before Trump won the Republican nomination to play in the US presidential election.
In the article, signed by Adam Entous and posted on the internet site of the newspaper, McCarthy, elected by the State of California, is quoted as saying: “There are two people whom I think Putin paid: Rohrabacher and Trump.”
Rohrabacher is a Republican, also a Californian, known in Congress for being a fervent supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian Federation.
