Park that changes color with heat
The Green Carceri is the green expanse in the form of zig-zag created by Tarquitectos studio to the famous High Line Park, New York. The structure that is organized around a central core will have the ability to change color depending on the temperature.
The projected space will be equipped with a center of botanical research, a library and a residential area. A passive design and a variety of renewable energy systems will reduce the ecological footprint of the building while several green slopes that emerge at ground level will be used as a mini-gardens.
The main objective of the design is to create an extension of public space surrounded the High Line. The building will have a green roof that provides insulation and uses rainwater for irrigation and to cool mechanical systems. The mini-gardens and mini greenhouses will allow citizens to interact with botanical research center and learn about urban gardens.
Additionally, in the form of zig-zag extension promotes natural ventilation and is covered with thermal properties in an ink which changes color depending on the outside temperature.
